Jamy’s Apple Crumb Cake
Apple desserts aren’t always my favorite (I’ll choose chocolate every time), but this apple crumb cake is sooooo good. It has quite a few components (shortbread base, thinly sliced apples, custardy sauce, and crumb topping) and is a labor of love, but it’s a special dessert that’s worth the work.
Serve with a German Riesling.
Leesa’s Favorite Side Salad
Delicious salads must be made with the freshest ingredients that are chopped into bite-sized pieces (especially the greens!). This is my favorite side salad to serve at a dinner party, and contains green and red romaine, sugar snap peas, apples, avocado, slivered almonds, and a high-quality prepared dressing.
Slow-Baked Pork Chops
Brown pork chops, apples, and onions, add stock and thyme, and bake until tender.
Curried Chicken Salad
Chop chicken (grab a rotisserie chicken at the market), grapes, apples, and pineapple. Add shredded carrots, curry powder, and toasted almonds for a truly special chicken salad. Serve on wheat bread, with crackers, or in pita pockets.
Jeanne-Marie’s Stuffed Pork Chops
These chops are smothered in a mixture of bacon, onions, apples, and cranberry sauce, and then baked.
Spicy Sausage Pot
Cook potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onion, sausage, and apples in a single pot until tender and fragrant.
Ultimate Apple Pie
This apple pie is really special. Combine sliced apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, and spices and spoon into a graham cracker macadamia nut crust. Top with a streusel crumble and serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
