Jamy’s Apple Crumb Cake

Apple desserts aren’t always my favorite (I’ll choose chocolate every time), but this apple crumb cake is sooooo good. It has quite a few components (shortbread base, thinly sliced apples, custardy sauce, and crumb topping) and is a labor of love, but it’s a special dessert that’s worth the work.

Serve with a German Riesling.

Poach chicken thighs in a broth of homemade curry paste, coconut milk, and chicken broth, add egg noodles and fish sauce, and top with onions, bean sprouts, cilantro stems, chili oil, and lime wedges.

Jamy’s Chocolate Buttons

These cookies contain 13 oz. of three different kinds of chocolate, but only 1/4 cup of flour. I’m not sure how that works, but they’re delicious.

Jamy’s Layered Goat Cheese Dip

Jamy shared this recipe with me in 2006 and again in 2014, so it must be a keeper, especially for someone who enjoys entertaining as much as she does. Layers of goat cheese and cream cheese alternate with pesto and sun-dried tomatoes for an impressive party dish.
