A day or two after Thanksgiving one year, when we had eaten all the turkey humanly possible, my brother, Chris, made a barbecue feast. These are his wonderful baked beans.
- Vegetable cooking spray
- 2 large cans Bushes baked beans
- 2 to 3 Tbs. molasses
- 2 to 3 Tbs. brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 yellow onion
Preheat oven to 300º.
Coat a 13x9-inch glass baking dish with vegetable cooking spray. Combine beans, molasses, brown sugar, and garlic in the baking dish. Peel onion and cut in half. Place onion halves cut side down in the beans. Bake for 2 hours 30 minutes.
